Core Responsibilities
Groomsmen support the groom and best man throughout wedding planning. The role is generally less intensive than bridesmaids but still important.
Bachelor party: Contribute to planning and costs. Follow the best man's lead while offering help and ideas.
Attire: Attend fittings, rent or buy required suit/tuxedo, and ensure you look sharp on the day.
Ushering: Seat guests before the ceremony. Know who sits where (bride's side vs groom's side, reserved seating for family).
Financial Expectations
Know the costs before committing. Groomsman expenses add up.
Attire: $150-$300+ for suit rental, or $300-$600+ to purchase. Shoes and accessories extra.
Bachelor party: Your share of the celebration. This varies wildly based on plans.
Travel: All expenses for wedding attendance including hotel and transportation.
Day-Of Duties
Show up on time, dressed correctly, and ready to help wherever needed.
Ceremony: Usher guests, stand with the groom, process out with paired bridesmaid.
Reception: Dance, celebrate, and ensure the groom has a great time. You may help with decoration teardown.
